Tournament Structure

  • Format: 8 teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket-style tournament.

  • Conferences: There are 2 conferences (Wild and Royal) that each contain 4 teams​

  • Game Duration: Each game lasts 10 minutes.

  • Victory Condition: The team with the most goals at the end of regulation wins!

  • Championship: The winner of each conference will meet in the championship game to win the ultimate prize... the Golden Duck

Overtime

  • Tied Games: If the game ends in a tie, it goes to Overtime.

  • Sudden Death: Overtime features a 1v1 sudden death match to determine the winner.

Game Play

  • Offsides: There are no offsides in Soap Hockey.

  • Out of Bounds: When the ball goes out of bounds or a goal is scored, the referee will reset the game:

    • A new ball will be given to the opposing team at their own goal.

    • The team must complete 1 pass before they can score again.

  • Post-Goal Retreat: After scoring, the scoring team must retreat to their half of the tarp before play resumes.

Equipment and Conduct

  • Gear Restrictions: Players are not permitted to wear gloves, shoes, or pads.

  • Fouls: The following actions are not allowed:

    • Slashing

    • High sticking

    • Tripping

    • Pushing

    • Holding

  • Penalties: Any infractions will result in the offending player’s stick being taken away for      1 minute. Good luck with that...

Power Players & Power Ups

  • Power Players: Each game will feature 2 Power Players, who are hockey influencers ready to support their teams!

    • Each team gets 1 Power Play per game.

    • A Power Play allows a team to bring on their Power Player for 2 minutes (not usable in the first or last minute of the game).

    • To activate a Power Play, the Power Player must sound off their airhorn.

  • Power Ups: Each team has 1 Power Up per game, determined by spinning the Bladetech Power Wheel.

    • Power Ups can be used at any time during the game, excluding the first or last minute.

    • Available Power Ups include:

      • Ankle Weights

      • Pool Noodle Sticks

      • Mini Sticks

      • Blindfold

Special Feature: Bubble Blitz

  • Final Minute: The last minute of the game is known as Bubble Blitz.

  • During this time, bubbles will emit from the goals, and all goals scored are worth 2 points!
